PHILADELPHIA – The Dragons defeated the Penn Quakers 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. The win brings the Dragons to 7-2 on the season.

BY THE NUMBERS
Fleur Hamers scored the first goal of the game. Hamers has a team high eight goals on the year.
Cato Nackaerts tallied a goal while adding an assist. The rookie is up to 13 points on the season.
Nicole Enslin posted her second goal of the season for the Dragons.
Ava Trexler recorded her first points as a Dragons with an assist.
The Dragons recorded 13 shots with seven on goal.
Halle Geiger recorded her third complete game shutout of the season. Geiger, a staple in the cage record six saves on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dragons and Quakers took turns attacking in the first half. Both teams adjusting to the weather led to a scoreless first half. The Dragons would earn a penalty corner just over a minute into the third quarter. Drexel would capitalize on this chance as Nackaerts shot was deflected by Hamers up over the Quakers keeper to put the Dragons up 1-0. Drexel would continue to be aggressive as just six minutes later Nackaerts would find the ball at the top of the circle before dribbling through the Quakers before placing the ball past the keeper to give the Dragons a 2-0 lead. With five minutes remaining in the game Drexel would score the dagger as Valentine Van Hellemont would insert a corner to Trexler who knocked the ball to Enslin as she rifled the ball into the cage to put the Dragons up 3-0.

The Dragons will return to Buckley Field on Friday, October 2nd to face 19th ranked Monmouth. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
