Bio
Career: Joey Goodhart, a heavyweight wrestler with over 100 career victories, capped his final year at Drexel with his third trip to the NCAA Championships. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native went 102-51 in his time at University City, winning two-thirds of his bouts to finish eighth on Drexel's all-time wins leaderboard. As a redshirt senior, he placed third at the 2019 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Championships as he won a team-high 34 bouts on the campaign. He placed second at the 2017 EIWA Championships and seventh in 2016. Academically, he is a three-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Individual Scholar All-American, Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Academic Achievement Award winner and Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area At-Large Team selection. Goodhart is earning his degree in marketing. Following the end of his collegiate career, he was named the 2019 John Semanik Award recipient by Drexel Athletics, given to the outstanding male athlete who best exemplify scholarship and athletic ideals of the former Directors of Athletics, Mr. and Mrs. Semanik.

2017-18: Redshirted…finished with a 10-3 record wrestling unattached at 285 pounds…placed seventh at the Southern Scuffle…champion at the East Stroudsburg Open…had three wins by fall and one technical fall victory.
2016-17: Qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career after finishing in second place at the EIWA Championships in the heavyweight bracket…totaled 24 wins on the season including four pins, a major decision, and a technical fall…went 9-2 against EIWA opponents and 15-4 in dual competition…ranked as high as No.16 in the NCAA Division I Coaches' Ranking…also earned a third place finish at the 2016 Keystone Classic…a recipient of the 2017 EIWA Academic Achievement Award and was named a member of the 2017 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I All-Academic Individual Team…also named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area men's at-large team.
2015-16: Was second on the team with 25 wins on his sophomore season…went 11-5 in dual action and 7-2 against EIWA opponents as the primary heavyweight starter for the Dragons…recorded three wins-by-fall on the year, two of which came during competition at the EIWA Championships…finished seventh at the EIWA Tournament, reaching the podium for the first time in his career…received an at-large bid and made first his career-appearance at the NCAA Championships…advanced to the second day of competition at the national tournament…also placed second at the Road Runner Open and fifth at the Keystone Classic…a 2015-16 EIWA Academic Achievement Award recipient…was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s 2015-16 Academic All-Area At-Large team…qualified for the World Team Trials at the UWW Junior Freestyle Nationals (U20) in May of 2016 after Drexel’s competitive season.
