Jordie Olivella is now in his second season under his former coach, Chris Bates. His main duties will be working with the team’s goalkeepers, recruiting and coordinating the team’s travel. Last year, Drexel’s goalkeepers allowed just 7.14 goals per game, the fifth best total in all of Division I.
Olivella graduated from Drexel in 2002 with a degree in business concentrating in management information systems. He was a three-year starter in the cage and was a major contributor on the 2002 team which won nine games and finished 3-2 in the CAA. He was a captain of the 2002 team.
Olivella is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. He worked as a marketing director at an import firm out of Miami, Fla., before deciding to return to the field. He is single and lives in Philadelphia.
