An athletic face-off man…one of Drexel’s three face-off men who was part of the fifth-ranked unit in the country two years ago.
2009: Finished 26th in the nation in face-off percentage at .542…won a season-high 13 face-offs against Robert Morris and had a season-high eight ground balls…finished the year with 38 ground balls, second on the team…picked up five ground balls against Penn… won five or more draws seven times.
2008: A First Team All-CAA performer…part of Drexel’s fifth-ranked face-off unit…won more than 60 percent of his face-off attempts (69-for-114)…named CAA Player of the Week after winning 12 of his 14 draws against Hofstra.
2007: Played in just four games before missing the remainder of the season due to injury….won two of his three face-offs…received a medical hardship waiver.
2006: Played in 10 games at midfield…won 6-of-9 face-offs and corralled three ground balls in Drexel's 13-8 win at Lafayette.
Background: Attended Stephen Decatur High School…played in the National Senior All-Star Game…an All-America nominee…a three-sport standout who also ran track and played on the state championship soccer team…was a First Team All-Bayside selection in both lacrosse and soccer…ranked first in his class and won the Presidential Award.
Personal: Son of Gwen and Walter West…majoring in computer engineering.
