Brandon Johnson was promoted to the assistant director of athletics for administration in February of 2022. He had been in the role of the assistant to the athletics director/coordinator of athletic strategies and engagement since September of 2018.

Johnson supports the director of athletics in all administrative functions and implementation of the department's strategic plan. This position also acts as a liaison between the director and other units within the department. He is also the chair of the department’s culture committee and an advisor for Drexel's Black Student Athlete Union. Before his promotion, Johnson was Drexel's team services coordinator. In that role, he planned travel for Drexel's 18 varsity athletic teams.

Prior to Drexel, Johnson worked for the Philadelphia Union, where he served as the Team Coordinator of Bethlehem Steel FC, the Union's USL affiliate. Johnson is a 2016 graduate of Temple University in Sport and Recreation Management. He was a men's basketball manager for four years under Fran Dunphy during his time at Temple.

Johnson resides in Drexel Hill, Pa. with his wife, Breanna.
