Dragons Draw With Monmouth, 1-1

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – A goal by Brian Salvino in the 64th minute helped the Drexel men's soccer team play Monmouth to a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening in West Long Branch, N.J.
The Dragons made the Monmouth keeper work, taking twelve shots and putting five on target. The Hawks took nine shots and were only able to put three on target.
Monmouth got on the board in 44th minute. A shot by Patrick Osiecki deflected off a Drexel defender and went into the net. The goal gave Monmouth a 1-0 lead that would hold well into the second half.
The Dragons evened the score in the 64th minute of the game. Max Haberl dished a ball to Morgan Worsfold-Gregg on the right side of the field, who made an easy pass off to Brian Salvino. Salvino made one touch and fired a ball from 25 yards out to beat the goalkeeper to his right.
The Dragons take a brief 10-day break before jumping back into action. DU welcomes NJIT to Vidas Field on October 14 at 6 p.m.
