PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team defeated the LIU Sharks on Tuesday night at Vidas Field. The Dragons and Sharks entered the second half scoreless, but Drexel's offense created multiple opportunities to propel the team to its second-straight victory against a team from Long Island.
Both teams almost played identical matches, being within two or three shots, saves and corner kicks from each other. However, Drexel created better opportunities than LIU, capitalizing on plays in front of net and creating plays with dribbling and passing.
The Dragons completed their first goal in 53rd minute of the game. Morgan Worsfold-Gregg received a dump-off pass from Brian Salvino and made a move to create space to take a shot on goal. The sophomore found the back of the net and pushed his points streak to six straight matches. The London, England native has also scored in three straight matches.
Nearing the end of the match, Drexel tacked on an insurance goal. Jack Shannon began with the ball in the 83rd minute and played a through ball to Victor Moerck who was streaking into the penalty box. The junior took the shot from the left side of the goal and beat the keeper to the right to pull Drexel away from LIU.
Drexel returns to Vidas Field on Saturday, September 27 to play Hofstra at 1 p.m.. The match will kick off alumni weekend. Details for the event are below.

Former student-athletes, families and friends are invited to return to campus for Alumni Weekend at the Vidas Athletic Complex on September 27 and 28. Festivities will include food, refreshments, beer and wine, while cheering on the men's soccer and field hockey programs.

• Johnson Bowie Hall of Fame Recognition at Halftime
