2016-17: Senior campaign…Named to the CAA Men’s Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team…Notched both of his season best scores of 256.10 in the 1-meter finals and 222.25 in the 3-meter finals at the CAA Championships…Drexel men finished 2nd of 5 at the 2017 CAA Championships with a score of 752.
2015-16: Completed his junior campaign…Named to the 2015-16 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men’s Swimming & Diving Team…Received the team’s Scholar Athlete award at the squad’s season-ending banquet…His top 1m (6 dives) and 3m (6 dives) came against Delaware with respective scores of 221.55 and 225.85…At the CAA Championships, he posted top scores of 225.70 in the 1m (11 dives) prelims and 230.65 in the 3m (11 dives) finals…A CAA Commissioner’s Award winner.
2014-15: Finished fourth in the 3 meter dive (226.85) and fifth in the 1 meter dive (189.20) at the CAA Championships…his top score on the season in the 1 meter came during the prelims at the CAA Championships (197.75) while his 3 meter finals dive at the Championships was his best on the campaign.
2013-14: Did not compete.
2012-13: Scored a 135.25 at a tri-meet featuring West Chester and Towson.
Background: Named to the Presidential Honor Roll at Canyon...National Merit Scholar and AP Scholar with honor...received summa cum laude honors...also, was the marching band drum major.
Personal: Son of Leslie and Keith Vennel...majoring in biomedical engineering.
