2012: One of the unsung leaders of the Drexel defense which led the league in goals against average and shutouts…started 18 matches in the back for Coach Goon’s squad…has now started 29 times in her career…had her only goal of the season in the Dragons’ win against Hawai’i-Hilo in Honolulu…a 2012 CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner.
2011: Emerged as a starter down the stretch for the Dragons…started the last 11 games and appeared in all 19 matches for a second straight season…scored a goal and had an assist in Drexels 3-1 win against UNC Wilmington…played the entire match against Towson and in the overtime tie against Northeastern… a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award winner for the second straight season.
2010: Appeared in 19 matches during her first season in University City…picked up an assist on the game-winning goal against UMBC in her first collegiate game…one of eight Dragons to play in all 19 matches…a CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient.
Background: A three-sport standout at nearby Germantown Academy…was a five-year letterwinner on the soccer field…the team Offensive MVP and captain as a senior, when she was a Second Team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection…named All-League as a junior and a senior…was also a four-year starter at shortstop on the softball team and a guard for two seasons on the varsity basketball team…a First Team All-Inter-ac selection on the diamond…a member of the Captains’ Counsel at Germantown.
Personal: Daughter of Julia and Joseph Stampone…is one of five children…her father played baseball at La Salle…her brother, Pete played soccer at Widener and her brother Joey played at Tufts…majoring in design and merchandising.
