Crawford Leads the Dragons Past Georgia State, 73-57

Drexel held the Panthers to just eight points over the first 11:10 of the second half to extend the four-point halftime lead to a 60-47 cushion with 8:50 to play. The Dragons outscored Georgia State 24-2 in the paint in the second half. Frank Elegar (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) had 11 of his 13 points in the second half.
Dominick Mejia (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) led Drexel with 18 points, 16 of them coming in the first half. Mejia nailed five three pointers in the game and also had a game-high five assists. As a team the Dragons were 8-for-11 behind the arc in the first half, but led only 41-37 at the break as Georgia State shot a blistering 64 percent in the first 20 minutes.
Malcolm Manier led the Panthers with 13 points, while Herman Favors added 11 points. Drexel had a season-high 18 assists and a season-low seven turnovers. The Dragons also had nine blocked shots and finished shooting 50 percent from the floor.
Drexel will face Delaware on Saturday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center at 1 p.m. The game will be televised live on CN8.
