Crawford's Record-Setting Night Leads Drexel Past William & Mary, 57-46

Williamsburg, Va.--Chaz Crawford tied a school record with nine blocked shots as Drexel defeated William & Mary, 57-46, for its sixth-straight win. The Dragons (9-5, 3-0 CAA) went on a 14-0 run midway through the second half to rally from a three-point deficit to earn the win. It was the 11th-straight victory over the Tribe (5-7, 0-3) for the Dragons.
Drexel raced out to a 16-2 lead early on, but the Tribe chipped away and took a 37-34 lead with 10:57 to play. Bashir Mason answered with a three-pointer to tie the game and start the run which sealed the contest.
Frank Elegar led Drexel with 17 points and was 7-for-7 from the floor. Kenell Sanchez added 13, including 11 in the second half. Mason finished with 11 points, while Crawford led the team with 12 caroms.The Drexel defense held its opponent to under 50 points for the fourth time in five games.
Drexel plays at Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday night. The game is at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on CN8.
