Men's Basketball Falls at Old Dominion

Norfolk, Va. – Old Dominion shot 58 percent from the floor and handed Drexel an 84-57 loss at the Constant Convocation Center. The Monarchs made 10 three-pointers in the game and were 7-for-11 from deep in the first half as they improved to 5-1 in the CAA. The Dragons fell to 12-4 on the season and 4-2 in CAA play.
The game was tied at 12-12 before ODU went on a 12-1 run to take a double digit lead midway through the first half. The Monarchs extended the lead to as many as 18 and led at intermission, 40-22. ODU reserve Gerald Lee came off the bench to score 10 points in the first half.
Scott Rodgers (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) led Drexel with 13 points. He was 5-for-7 from the field. Bashir Mason (Jersey City, N.J.) added 11 points. Freshman Lance Feurtado (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) had a career-high seven points and knocked down a pair of three pointers. The Dragons shot only 3-for-15 from behind the arc.
Drew Williamson led four Monarchs in double figures with 16 points. He also had five assists and four steals. Lee finished with 14 points and Valdas Vasylius chipped in with 13 points. Brian Henderson led all players with eight assists.
The Dragons are off until Wednesday, when they host Northeastern in a CAA contest at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Huskies upset Hofstra on Saturday afternoon in Boston. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.. The game can be heard on WNTP 990 AM and on the web at drexeldragons.com.
