Sabovici and Karsiyakalilar Take Pair of Events at Delaware Dual Meet

The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving team completed a meet at the University of Delaware where the women lost to the Blue Hens, 196-103, and Vermont, 191-106 while the men's team dropped a 163-137 decision to the host school.
Craig Podgurski (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) continued his strong start to the season with victories in the 200 and 500 freestyle. Mert Karsiyakalilar (Istanbul, Turkey/Italian High School) was impressive in butterfly events winning the 100 and 200-yard competitions while sophomore Adrian Sabovici (Maramures, Romania/Colegiul National Gheorghe Sihcai) won the 100 and 200 breast. The Drexel divers swept the diving events as Ian Jevnick (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) took the one meter dive while reigning CAA men's diver of the week, Jake Roberson (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington) won the three meter.
The Dragons return to action on Thursday, Nov. 15 with a trip to the Maryland Invitational.
