Men's Crew Tops La Salle at Shore Boys Invitational

Philadelphia - The Drexel men's rowing team defeated La Salle at the Shore Boys Invitational held on the Schuylkill River. The women's team placed second behind Lehigh but ahead of La Salle to take second. The event was moved from Ventnor, N.J. to Philadelphia due to inclement weather.
The women's team finished the race at 15:18, two seconds behind the Mountain Hawks and seven seconds better than the Explorers. The men's team crossed the line at 13:31, seven seconds better than the varsity eight team from La Salle.
The Drexel junior varsity eight for both the men and the women competed in the races. The women's boat finished with a time of 16:48 while the men's boat clocked a 13:43, besting La Salle's junior varsity men's boat by 47 seconds.
The men's and women's rowing team will return to the water on Nov. 10 and 11. They will compete in the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta on Saturday and the Braxton Memorial Regatta on Sunday, both at the Schuylkill River.
