Four Dragons Win Events at Hounds Invitational

Baltimore, Md. – The Drexel men's swimming and diving team competed in the Hounds Invitational hosted by Loyola College where three swimmers and one diver placed first among entrants from Marist, Delaware and the host school. As a team, Drexel lost to Delaware, 256-112, and dropped a 223-145 decision to Loyola. Marist defeated the Dragons, 223-144. The meet was the final event for the team until January of 2008.
Katie McCann (Media, Pa./Penncrest) won the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.61 and took second in the 500 free defeating Marist and Loyola after posting a 5:06.19. Maria Coman (Bucharest, Romania/Colegiul National Gheorghe Lazar) won the 100 back with a time of 59.21. Sarah Keeley (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) finished the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.43 to earn first place in the event. Keeley topped entrants from Loyola and Marist in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:29.64.
Diver Kate Hynes (Brookville, Pa./Brookville Area) continued her impressive season as she established a pair of pool records. The junior won both the 1 and 3-meter diving events scoring 290.60 in the 1-meter and 310.45 in the 3-meter.
The Dragons will return to action Jan. 12, 2008 with a dual meet at Binghamton at 1:00 p.m.
