Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season With Win Over Norfolk State

Norfolk, Va. - A rain-diminished field at the Hampton Roads Invitational resulted in a dual match between Drexel and Norfolk State to open the fall season for the Dragons. Drexel came out on top in its first action of the season, 4-2.

Winning individual matches for the Dragons were Gabriela Marginean, Mellissa Lewis, Jaimee Wylie and Melissa Bohm. Melissa Lewis earned a hard-fought three-set victory over Britney Foster at third singles. After dropping the first set 2-6, Lewis bounced back to win the second set in an 11-8 tiebreaker before closing out the victory 6-0 in the third set.

The team is back in action on Oct. 3 when the Dragons travel to play a dual match at Wagner.
