Semenetz Leads Dragons to Ninth-Place Finish at Bethpage

Bethpage, N.Y. - Drexel finished ninth of 18 teams at The McLaughlin Tournament held at Bethpage State Park on the red course. Junior Sean Semenetz played all three rounds at par or better as he carded a three-round total of 208 finishing 2-under-par. Semenetz tied for fifth individually as one of only eight golfers to finish the tournament under par. As a team, the Dragons fired an 870 for the three rounds. On Friday, Drexel shot a 294 in the opening round and a 286 in the second round. The Dragons finished the tournament on Saturday with a 280.
Myles Vlachos shot a 221 (+11) for the tournament including a 1-under 69 on the second round on Friday. Freshman Steve Kidron also shot a 221 in his first collegiate tournament. Steve Ransom shot a 223 while Frank Petrash shot a 231. Drexel placed highest among the three Colonial Athletic Association schools playing in the event. George Mason finished 15th while Hofstra finished in 16th place.
