Dragons Turn in a Solid Showing at Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional

New Haven, Conn. - Drexel's senior duo of Joe Koebele and Carlo Pangilinan participated in the ITA/Wilson Northeast Regional Championships hosed by Yale University in one of the final tournaments of the fall season for the Dragons.
Koebele advanced in the singles bracket with a win over Monmouth's Benjamin Evenden. The straight-set 7-5, 6-3 victory was the senior's first win this fall since the Philly Six Tournament. Koebele fell in the second round to Boston College's Thomas Nolan 6-4, 6-3 to put his singles record at 2-5 on the season.
Pangilinan fell to Cornell's Andy Gauthier, 6-4, 6-4 in his only singles match of the weekend. Pangilinan and Koebele also participated in the doubles draw. The pair fell to Penn State's team of Brendan Lynch and Jake Toole, 8-4, in the first round of doubles play over the weekend.
Koebele, Pangilinan and the rest of the Dragons will be back in action for their first dual match of the fall season at home against Rider on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 2:00 p.m.
