Men's Tennis Wins First Dual Match of the Fall, 5-2, Over Rider

Philadelphia, Pa. - Drexel's men's (1-0) and women's tennis teams defeated Rider (2-4) in dual matches at Vidas Athletic Complex on Tuesday. It was the first dual match of the fall season for the men, who topped the Broncs 5-2. The women (6-0) remain undefeated on the fall season, winning their second match in as many days, with a 7-0 win over Rider (2-6).

The Drexel men picked up victories in singles play by Bryan Nguyen, Jason Savage-Pollock, Alex Barnes and Jarrod Popovice. The Dragons also swept doubles play to pick up the team point. The newcomer, Nguyen, improved to 5-1 in singles play this season with an emphatic 6-0, 6-1 beating of Robert Olson. He also teamed with Carlo Pangilinan for the first time this season to best Casey Jedlinski and Will Haight 8-5 at first doubles. The men are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 23 in a home match against St. Francis (N.Y.) at 2:30.
