Gaudier Gives Dragons 4-2 Win Over Georgetown in Season Opener

Statesboro, Ga. - Sophomore Katrina Gaudier picked up where she left off last season. The 2007 All-Rookie selection pitched Drexel to a 4-2 win over Big East foe Georgetown and belted her first homerun of the season to help provide the offense for her win. Freshman Katy Harrington added a home run in her first taste of collegiate competition. Drexel continues play at the Georgia Southern Tournament this evening with a 6:00 p.m. game against Alabama State.
Gaudier threw seven strong innings to earn her first win of the season. She allowed two earned runs on four hits, issued just one walk and struckout two Hoyas. Gaudier carried a shutout into the seventh inning before surrendering a two-run homer in the final frame. She was 2-for-3 from the plate with a single in addition to her round-tripper.
