Dragons Come Up Short In Rematch With Campbell

Santa Clara, Calif. - Drexel (4-6) lost its second game on day two at the Santa Clara University Bronco Stampede, 8-5 against Campbell. It was the second time the teams have met this season. The Camels topped the Dragons 8-3 at the Georgia Southern Tournament on Feb. 16. Freshman Kelly Downes recorded the first multiple hit game of her career, going 2-for-4 in the loss.
Breanna Gomez incurred the loss, falling to 1-2 on the season. She pitched six and two-thirds innings and gave up all eight runs. Freshman Ellen Boundy relieved her in the seventh to get the final out.
Molly Dacey and Christina Rodriguez supplied the offense for the Dragons. Dacey went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with one run driven in. Drexel closes out play at the Bronco Stampede when it takes on Providence at noon (PST) tomorrow.
