Women's Tennis Blanks La Salle 7-0 In Regular-Season Finale

Philadelphia - Drexel women's tennis closed out its regular-season schedule with authority in a 7-0 trouncing of Philadelphia rival La Salle on Tuesday, April 15. Junior Emily Lewis picked up her first victory at second singles and she teamed with her twin sister Mellissa to continue their streak of domination at first doubles.
Drexel swept singles play without losing a set and closed out the match with two convincing wins on the doubles side. Gabriela Marginean improved to 6-1 on the season at first singles with a 6-1, 6-4 straight-set victory over Rachael Barnaht. Marginean also won at second doubles with partner Jaimee Wylie, in an 8-0 shutout of Martha Kutteh and Katherine Drapcho.
Emily Lewis earned her first victory of the season at second singles and her sister Mellissa followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Kutteh at third singles. Hanna Stecova dispatched Drapcho in straight sets, dropping just one game at fourth singles to give the Dragons a decisive victory.
The Dragons will look to carry the momentum garnered from today's victory into the CAA Tournament this weekend. They will travel to Virginia to face UNC Wilmington in the first round of the championships on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
