Several Dragons Pick Up Victories Against Binghamton

Philadelphia - The Drexel women's swimming and diving team had winners in freesyle, backstroke and breaststroke events in its dual meet against Binghamton. Jessica Csakai who the 500 and 1000 free, Maria Coman won the 100 and 200 back and Sarah Keeley won the 100 breast. Kate Hynes swept both boards as she continued her dual meet unbeaten streak. The Dragons also picked up a victory in the 200 free relay. As a team, the Bearcats defeated Drexel, 168-130.
Csakai picked up the long distance freestyle wins to give the Dragons nine points each. Her time of 10:51.03 in the 1000 was good for first place while she also took the 500 free with a time of 5:18.05. Drexel's Meg Smith finished right behind her in the 500 to take second place. Coman also picked up a pair of wins including her second straight triumph in the 100 back on the weekend. Coman, the school record holder in the 100 back, was clocked at 1:00.79 before picking up the 200 back victory with a time of 2:10.91. Sarah Keeley also earned Drexel nine team points when she posted a time of 1:10.25 in the 100 breast to take the event. Drexel's foursome of Coman, Keeley, Kaitlin Slowey and Devina Tyagi were clocked at 1:53.06 in the 200 medley relay to earn first place.
Kate Hynes continued her dominance as she cruised to victory on the 1- and 3-meter board. The senior racked up 352.50 in the 3-meter event and her total of 289.35 was good enough on the 1-meter board.
Drexel will return to action on Jan. 23 when the Dragons travel to Providence to take on the Friars at 1:00 p.m.
