Coman and Hynes Pick Up Victories Against Rival Delaware

Philadelphia - The Drexel women's swimming & diving team dropped a 149-77 decision to Delaware and the Dragons' home opener of the 2008-09 season. Maria Coman took first place in the 100 back while Kate Hynes swept both boards as she kept her undefeated dual meet season intact. Drexel also took first place in the 200 free relay event.
Coman, the current Drexel record holder in the 100 back, posted a time of 59.90 edging Maryann Walker's time of 1:00.30. Hynes was impressive on both boards as she scored 330.07 on the 1-meter and 342.45 on the 3-meter dive. Drexel's 200 free relay team of Jessica Csakai, Meg Smith, Kaitlin Slowey and Morgan Cichewicz finished the event in 1:45.30 to take first place. The Dragons' other entry in the event took second place as Marissa Gregory, Tori Mayer, Ryann Dancy and Emily Lupico teamed to earn four team points with their time of 1:55.68.
The Dragons return to action on Sunday as they host Binghamton at 2:00 p.m.
