Dragons Return to Drexel Pool for Home Meet

Philadelphia - Drexel men's and women's swimming will face George Washington in a non-conference meet on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1:00 p.m. The Villanova men's swimming & diving team will also be competing in the dual meet. Both the Drexel men and women are looking for their first home victory of the season. Both squad are currently 2-2 overall in the 2009-10 season.
T.J. Southmayd headlines the Drexel men's team into the meet. Southmayd is currently undefeated in individual events but will be tested by the Colonials and the Wildcats. The senior transfer won the 100 and 200 free events in the Dragons' last meet, a victory at Rowan. Sherif Madkour has been Drexel's top individual medley swimmer this season as he picked up a win in the 200 IM against Rowan. He was also a member of the Dragons' winning 200 medley relay team.
On the women's side, Jessica Csakai stepped up in Drexel's last meet, a win at Rowan. The junior won both the 100 and 1000 free, events that will be crucial in Saturday's meet. Freshman Christine Mankus as also been one of Drexel's top freestyle swimmers as her victory in the 200 free against Rowan proved. Classmate Lauren Faykes has been among the Dragons' top backstroke specialists and will look continue her strong start to the season on Saturday.
