Jersey City, N.J. - Drexel women's tennis extended its match winning streak to nine straight with a 7-0 shutout victory at St. Peter's on Sunday. The Dragons swept doubles play with little protest from the Pea Hens and five of the Dragons' six singles matches were won in straight sets.
The closest match of the day was played at fifth singles where Emily Lewis pulled out a thrilling three-setter over Andrea Collomb. Lewis dropped the first set 4-6 before battling back to take the second 6-3. The two dueled it out in a third set that came down to a tiebreaker which Lewis won in dominant fashion, allowing her opponent just three points in the decider.
The Dragons will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 20 when they play crosstown rival Temple at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
