Dragons Overwhelm Brown 21-9 at the Palestra

Philadelphia - Drexel wrestling earned a 21-9 victory in a non-conference match held at the Palestra. The Dragons won seven of the 10 matches to snap a two-match losing streak. Drexel jumped out to a 15-3 lead to take the first of three straight matches against Ivy League opponents.
Brown took the opening match at 125 pounds but the Dragons rebounded to take the next five matches as Frank Cimato opened the run with a 5-3 decision over Eili Harris at 133 pounds. Matt Dugan followed with an 8-4 win over Grant Overcashier before Robert Robinson outpointed Dave Foxen, 9-6. Senior Billy Haydt edged Bryan Tracy in the 157-pound match, 5-2. Scott Hunter closed the run with an 4-1 victory.
The Bears cut into the Drexel lead with wins at 174 and 184 pounds. With the score 15-9, 12th-ranked Jon Oplinger took a 13-6 win over Brandon Steams to clinch the match for the Dragons. Heavyweight Kyle Frey capped the contest with a 4-2 victory.
