Dover, Del. - St. Francis's Laura Caldwell kept the Dragons at bay in a 6-1 victory for the Red Flash. Drexel managed just one run on three hits in seven innings. Rookie Caprice DiMirjian drove in the Dragons' lone run of the game. Drexel drops to 8-6 with the loss. The Dragons won earlier today 8-0 in 5 innings against Central Connecticut State.
Rookie Devon Metcalf went 2-for-3 hitting out of the No. 5 spot in the lineup. She also scored Drexel's only run. Hillary Allen started the game for the Dragons and picked up the loss. She allowed three earned runs on six hits in two innings before giving way to Ellen Boundy in the third. Boundy let up three more runs on five hits and a walk in four innings on the mound.
Drexel is back in action at the Capital City Classic hosted by Delaware State when they take on the host Hornets tomorrow at 11:00 p.m.
