
Jevnick and Roberson Earn Finals Berths on Both Boards at NCAA Diving Zone Regional

Buffalo, N.Y. - Ian Jevnick and Jake Roberson each placed in the top 18 on the 1- and 3-meter boards to earn a place in the finals at the NCAA Diving Zone A Regional. In the 1-meter finals, Jevnick took seventh and Roberson 15th and on the 3-meter board, Jevnick took seventh and Roberson eighth in the final.
Jevnick's seventh-place finish on the 1-meter board was the highest of any diver from the Colonial Athletic Association. He totaled 561.75 for the competition to finish just 0.45 points ahead of Stephen Ferriera of UConn, the Huskies' top finisher. The sophomore's top dive of the finals was his first, a forward two-and-a-half somersault pike that netted him 53.30 points. Also finished the finals strong with a forward three-and-a-half somersault tuck, his most difficult dive, that earned 52.50 points.
Roberson used the same opening dive in the 1-meter finals as Jevnick and scored big with 54.60 points. On his fifth dive, an inward one-and-a-half somersault pike was his second highest-scoring dive of the day as judges awarded him 49.20 points. His total of 536.75 placed him 15th among the field.
In 3-meter action, Jevnick and Roberson qualified seventh and eighth, respectively in preliminaries. Jevnick had his highest scoring dive of the meet on his second dive, a forward three-and-a-half somersault pike. His toughest dive also produced the biggest score with judges awarding him 63.55 points. He totaled 619.20 for the event, good for seventh place overall. Roberson had a slow start in his first three dives of the finals but rebounded with three dives that scored at least 56 points each. His top dive of the finals came on the senior's fifth attempt, a back two-and-a-half somersault tuck, that netted 58.80 points en route to his competition total of 604.85.
