Philadelphia - Drexel picked up a victory over Providence in the Dragons' final home meet of the 2009-10 season. Jessica Csakai, Maria Coman, Amanda Brown, Lauren Faykes, Christine Mankus and Malin Wiberg each won individual events while Megan Halicek swept the diving competitions. Prior to the meet, Maggie Bailey and Julia Howett were honored as part of Senior Day festivities.
Drexel opened the meet by taking the top two spots in the 200 medley relay as Maria Coman, Amanda Brown, Lauren Faykes and Meg Smith took first while Morgan Cichewicz, Malin Wiberg, Kelly Scheirer and Julie Lin finished second. Junior Jessica Csakai earned first place in the 200 free as she defeated the field by more than three seconds with a time of 1:57.29. Coman followed with a win in the 100 back with Cichewicz and Christine Mankus taking second and third place, respectively. Brown added a win in the 100 breast jwith a time of 1:10.51 with Wiberg taking second just 0.12 seconds later. Faykes took the 200 fly with a time of 2:13.81 before Providence finally got its first win of the day as Erin Nanna outsprinted Meg Smith in the 50 free as Nanna finished at 25.78 and Smith at 25.96. Nanna added a win in the 100 free with Smith taking second before Mankus halted the Friars' run with a triumph in the 200 back at 2:09.55. Wiberg got her first individual win of the day as she won the 200 breast with a time of 2:30.78. With Drexel having clinched the team win, the Dragons entered the rest of the day's races as exhibitions.
In diving action, Halicek took both boards with nearly identical scores as she totaled 286.20 on the 1-meter board and 286.65 on the 3-meter. Providence's Allie Black took second in the 1-meter with a score of 230.55.
