Baker and Tribbett Net Weekly Awards

Philadelphia - Senior Nate Baker and freshman Ken Tribbett have earned weekly honors from the CAA and the Philadelphia Soccer Six for their part in a 2-0 week for Drexel during which the Dragons' offense exploded for eight goals. Baker has been named Soccer Six Player of the Week and Colonial Athletic Assiciation Co-Player of the Week. Tribbett was named CAA Rookie of the Week, selected for the College Soccer News National Team of the Week and was also selected for the Soccer Six weekly Honor Roll.
Both players contributed two goals and an assist on the week to help the Dragons beat George Mason, 4-1, at home and Towson 4-3 on the road.
Baker scored in the 53rd minute of Drexel's 4-1 win over George Mason at home on Wednesday on a header from a free kick at midfield taken by Anthony Bafile. The goal put Drexel on top 3-1 in the second half. On Sunday, Baker scored the first of two goals in a span of 43 seconds when he chipped home a tally on a breakaway opportunity in the 23rd minute. The Dragons would go on to win the match 4-3 for their first CAA road victory. Baker now leads the team with five assists on the season. Baker shares Co-Player of the Week Honors with Towson's Marco Mangione.
Tribbett recorded two goals and an assist this week to help the Dragons go 2-0 in CAA play with wins over George Mason at home and Towson on the road. Tribbett assisted on the first of four second-half Drexel goals in the Dragons' 4-1 win over Mason on Wednesday. At Towson on Sunday, Tribbett scored the game winner in the 57th minute of a 4-3 shootout. The score was the second of two goals for Tribbett, who also headed home a corner kick in the 32nd minute to put the Dragons up 3-1 at halftime. The rookie now ranks second on the team with four goals and nine points.
Baker and Tribbett lead the team back into action on Wednesday night at Delaware.
