Dragons Head to Hempstead to Tackle Hofstra Tonight

Hempstead, N.Y. - Drexel heads north to take on CAA opponent Hofstra at Hofstra Soccer Stadium tonight with kick-off set for 7:00 p.m. The Dragons (7-5-1, 3-3-0) are playing to bolster their place among the top four teams in the conference and looking for their second league road win of the season. Hofstra enters (3-6-4, 1-3-2) enter the contest coming off a a scoreless draw against Delaware, its fourth tie of the season. Fans can follow the action via game tracker by clicking here.
Drexel takes to the road for a two-game stint coming off another win at home. The Dragons bested Georgia State 2-1 last Saturday. With the wind gusting and the scored tied at 1-1, Drexel defender Tal Bublil cleared a Panther attempt with a long ball down the center. Freshman striker Mark Donohue, after entering the match just four minutes earlier, headed into a foot race with Georgia State keeper Vincent Foermer. Foermer reached the ball only steps before Donohue but was unable to set a foot to clear the danger. Donohue collected the loose ball and walked in his first career goal to give Drexel the victory.
Hofstra enters its second of three straight home matches, with the first resulting in an overtime draw against Delaware, 0-0. Despite a combined 38 shots, neither team was able to convert as both keepers combined for 18 saves.
Drexel leads the all-time series between the two teams, 27-12-8. In their last meeting, the Dragons fell at home as the Pride tallied four unanswered goals to come back from behind for the 4-1 win. Senior Cole Feffer scored his first goal of the season to give Drexel the lead early in the second half but Hofstra's Rob Youhill scored twice, including the game winner, while adding one assist as the Pride rode their momentum to the end. Each keeper recorded five saves on the day.
Drexel's Nathan Page and Nate Baker lead the team in goals and assists, respectively. Page has scored six goals and while Baker has distributed five assists. Page's most recent offering came as a penalty-kick, Drexel's second on the season, that he deposited past Georgia State keeper Vincent Foermer to square the match at 1-1 on Saturday.
Hofstra has scored only six goals in 13 matches, lead by freshman Chris Griebsch with six points on two goals and two assists. Junior keeper Greg Cumpstone has anchored Hofstra's defense recording four shutouts, which ties him for third all-time in shutouts for the Pride.
