Washington, D.C. - Despite a number of strong individual performances, the Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving suffered fell short against the George Washington Colonials on the road. The men lost 151-107, while the women fell 145-114. Both teams dropped to 1-2 on the season.
The men's swimming team opened with an impressive win by junior Preston Chaffee posting a 10:59.52 in the 1,000 freestyle. The women's swimming team saw sophomore Lauren Faykes win the 200 freestyle (1:58.20).
The Drexel women dominated the water in the 400 freestyle relay, with all four relay teams touching the wall before the Colonials. Some stand-out individual efforts on the women's side included Junior Malin Wiberg taking first place in both the 100 (1:10.65) and 200 breaststroke (2:31.82). Jenna Seitz won the 200 butterfly (2:12.49) and 500 freestyle (5:34.41). Juniors Megan Cickewicz (56.80) and Devina Tyagi (56.83) added points by taking first and second in the 100 freestyle.
