Palik Earns Team-Leading Fourth Pin as Dragons Go 1-2 at Bloomsburg Duals

Bloomsburg, Pa. – Drexel went 1-2 overall at the Bloomsburg Duals beating East Stroudsburg before dropping back-to-back matches against Buffalo and host Bloomsburg.
The Dragons picked up their opening match against East Stroudsburg 28-6 with three bonus-point wins including two pins. After a forfeit at 125 pounds, Frank Cimato picked up a 10-1 major decision over Jordan Toledo. Austin Sommer recorded his ninth overall victory with a fall over Tyler Wilton in 2:49, Sommer's second pin of the season. After Charles Aungst's close 12-9 loss to Luke Grassi, Drexel rattled off five straight wins starting with Joe Booth's 4-3 decision at 165. The victory was Booth's team leading tenth win. Justin Wieller picked up a 8-1 decision at 174 pounds followed by Shawn Fausey's 6-3 win over Brendan McKeown at 184 pounds. Brandon Palik earned his team leading fourth pin in 3:27 over Eddie Ebewo while the match was capped off with Jack Callender's 8-2 decision at heavy weight over Will Weaver.
In their second match, Drexel fell to Buffalo 9-26 as Cimato, Booth and Wieller all picked up their second wins of the day at 133, 165 and 174 pounds respectively. Buffalo secured three straight wins in the middle of the line-up at 141, 149 and 157 pounds including two major decisions to earn the victory.
In their third and final dual, Drexel dropped a close-fought 23-17 match to the host Huskies as four more Dragons picked up their second individual wins. Yurasits and Sommers won back-to-back bouts at 141 to 149 respectively as Sommer picked up his second fall of the season with a second round pin over Matthew Hicks. Palik, with a 7-1 decision over Jacob Dabashinsky at 197 pounds, and Callender, with a win by forfeit at heavy weight, also earned their second wins.
Drexel moves to 3-6 on the season and will return to action with its last matches of 2010 when the Dragons travel to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Bucknell Duals on Friday, December 17.
