Drexel Softball Takes the Field at the UCSB Gaucho Classic This Weekend

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Drexel softball will be back in action for the first time since it's season-opening series at the Jacksonville Tournament in early February, when the Dragons play in the University of California - Santa Barbara Gaucho Classic this weekend. Drexel will play the host Gauchos, 2009 NCAA qualifier North Dakota State, Wisconsin and Memphis during the tournament. Click here to track the Dragons during the weekend.
Drexel will open competiton on Thursday, Feb. 25 against the host UCSB Gauchos at 12:00 p.m. The Gauchos are 4-7 on the season and are entering the tournament following a pair of wins over Tulsa and Northern Colorado. The Dragons will also face 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifier North Dakota State at 3:30 on Thursday. On Friday, Drexel will play Wisconsin at 10:45 a.m. and face Wisconsin at 1:00 p.m.
Led by rookie Hanna Parrish, who hit better than .300 with her first career home run and five stolen bases, the Dragons went 1-3 at the Jacksonville Tournament. Senior Ashley Botelho is sizing up Drexel's all-time RBI record, she is just nine away from matching the program's mark.
