
Men's Lax Drops 10-6 Decision at Delaware

Newark, Del. – Delaware raced out to a big early lead and defeated Drexel, 10-6. The loss dropped the Dragons into a three-way tie for second place in the CAA with the Blue Hens and UMass at 2-2. Drexel is now 9-4 overall, while Delaware improved to 7-6.
After a scoreless first quarter, Delaware scored two goals within a minute in the early going of the second quarter. Drexel finally got on the board at the 8:52 mark of the quarter when Brendan Glynn set up Adam Dennis, who fired a shot from right in front of the cage. That was as close as Drexel would get. The Blue Hens scored the next three goals to take a 5-1 lead to intermission.
Delaware held Drexel off the board in the third quarter and scored the first four goals of the second half to increase the lead to 9-1. Drexel's offense finally got going midway through the fourth period. Robert Church set up Colin Ambler at the 8:32 mark, and 29 seconds later Church scored to cut the lead to 9-3. Delaware got an insurance goal a few minute later when Curtis Dickson scored his third goal of the game. Glynn, Ryan West and Ambler added late goals for the Dragons.
Mark Manos made 11 saves for the Dragons, while Noah Fossner made 12 stops for Delaware. Drexel's Zak Fisher won nine of 10 face offs in a losing effort. Drexel closes the regular season with a home contest against UMass on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The game can be seen live on The Comcast Network.
