Philadelphia – The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) has recently recognized junior Sarah Bauer from the women's lacrosse team and senior Colin Ambler from the men's lacrosse team as All-American athletes for their training and conditioning performances.
The women's lacrosse team finished their season with a 10-7 mark overall. Bauer, the team's top defender, started all 17 games for Drexel this season and led the team with 18 caused turnovers on defense. She was named Second Team All-Colonial Athletic Association. Ambler is a two-year captain for the Dragons and recorded 38 points on 22 goals and 16 assists this season. He led Drexel to a 10-5 mark and final regular season ranking of 15 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse National Poll.
“In the weight room Colin is extremely hard working, consistent and quietly motivating,” said Drexel's head strength coach Mike Rankin. “Sarah has a terrific work ethic and never backs down from a challenge.”
The NSCA awarded 232 athletes across all Division I sports this year. “The advantage of strength training and conditioning cannot be denied…these student-athletes attest to this understanding, and are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication.” Said Robert Jursnick, NSCA's Executive Director.
