Drexel Field Hockey to Travel to City Rival Temple for Wednesday Matinee

Philadelphia - Drexel Field Hockey will look to extend its winning streak against Philadelphia area teams to 12 games as the 16th-ranked Dragons travel to Geasey Field to take on Temple on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 3:30 p.m. Both Drexel and Temple are coming off of 4-0 defeats to nationally ranked teams on Sunday. The Dragons enter the contest with a 3-3 record while the Owls are 4-3 in 2010.
Drexel downed Sacred Heart, 4-0, last Friday before falling to No. 6 UConn by the same score. Ashley Santee scored twice against the Pioneers and Jenna Phillips recorded her second shutout of the season. Two days later, the Huskies broke open a scoreless tie in the second half with four goals to escape Buckley Field with the win. Susan Ciufo and Kim Tunell share the team lead with seven points each this season. Ciufo has a team-high three goals while Tunell's three assists are tops on the squad.
After a perfect 4-0 start, Temple has dropped its last three games, including an overtime and a double overtime heartbreaker. After a 4-2 opening day win over Bucknell, the Owls posted three straight shutouts in defeating Fairfield, St. Francis and Georgetown. Temple then lost to Lafayette, 2-1, in double overtime before falling to defending CAA Champion Delaware, 2-1, in overtime. On Sunday, Temple lost to No. 15 Penn State, 4-0. Bridget Settles leads the team with six goals and two assists on the season.
