Drexel Faces No. 14 UMass in Amherst on Saturday
Men's Lacrosse Visits No. 14 in Pivotal CAA Game on Saturday

The Drexel men's lacrosse team travels to Massachusetts this weekend to face No. 14 UMass. The Dragons and the Minutemen are meeting for the first time ever in Amherst. Both teams are in the thick of the CAA race, with the Minutemen entering the game with a 2-1 conference record and the Dragons beginning play with a 2-2 record.
The Dragons are coming off a thrilling 14-13 win at No. 19 Penn State on Saturday. Senior Scott Perri was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week after scoring three goals and handing out five assists in the win. Nick Trizano and Robert Church also recorded hat tricks in the win. Mark Manos made 12 saves in the cage. The win improved Drexel's overall record to 6-5, with all five losses coming to teams currently ranked in the top 20. .
UMass (7-3) rallied from a two-goal deficit late in the game to tie Towson and scored the game-winner in overtime to defeat the Tigers, 9-8. Sophomore Kyle Smith scored the game-winning goal 1:55 into overtime. Ryan Hantverk tied the game at 8-8 with one second left in regulation. Will Manny scored four goals, including two in the fourth-quarter.
Drexel closes the CAA portion of its schedule at home on April 23. The Dragons host Towson on Senior Day at Vidas Field beginning at 1 p.m.
