Santandrea Earns First Player of the Week Honors

Philadelphia – Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Santandrea (Schenectady, N.Y.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association women's lacrosse Player of the Week for her performance for the week ending March 11. This marks the first time Santandrea has been recognized by the league and the second award for Drexel Women's Lacrosse this season.
Santandrea and the Dragons opened up the week with a 15-0 win over the Mount Saint Mary's Mountaineers. Santandrea posted two saves in the first shutout since Drexel's Robin Orosz 16-0 victory against Rutgers in 1992. She also had a ground ball and caused one turnover on Wednesday. Against La Salle, Santandrea set a new season-high with 12 saves in the 10-7 win over the Explorers on Saturday. The sophomore goalkeeper has 36 saves on the season.
The Dragons will host Longwood at Vidas Field on Wednesday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m. as well as UMBC on Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m.
