TOWSON, Md. - The Drexel softball team is still in search of its first Colonial Athletic Association win of the season after dropping two games at Towson on Saturday. The Dragons were shutout in both games, falling 4-0 and 8-0 to the Tigers. Tara Konopka was tagged with the loss in Game One, while Shelby Taylor started and got the loss in Game Two.
Taylor, who played in both games, was the only Dragon to register multiple hits on the day, going a combined 2-for-4.
Konopka held the Tigers scoreless over the first four innings of the first game, before Towson broke through with a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Drexel, meanwhile, was held to just four hits by Towson's Katie Lingmai. Bina Abbott and Caitie Barber each homered for Towson in the Tigers' victory.
In the second game, Towson jumped on top quickly. The Tigers scored four times in the first, adding another run in the second and three in the third to put away the game after five innings. Delanie Dunham hit a home run and drove in four of Towson's runs, scoring two herself.
Drexel and Towson will conclude their series on Sunday with a single game.
