WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Drexel men's golf team fell at UNCW on Wednesday at the Cape Fear Country Club, 3-0 in a dual match. The match served as a final tune-up for the teams before heading to this weekend's Colonial Athletic Association Championships in Southport, N.C.
The three matches each were played under different formats. Chris Crawford fell in his standard match play battle with UNCW's Ross Robison, 2 and 1. The second match was a foursome alternate shot. Yoseph Dance and Adam Mistretta teamed against Pat Cover and Thomas Eldridge but were defeated, 4 and 2. The third and final match was four-ball, bset ball format. Brian Fischer and Avery Schneider fell to Grant Houser and Preston Harrington, 4 and 2.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday as the CAA Championships begin at the St. James Plantation in Southport. The 54-hold event continues on Saturday and finishes up on Sunday.
