Drexel's Sarah Curran Signs with European Pro Team

BEMMEL, Netherlands - Former Drexel standout Sarah Curran has signed her first professional contract, agreeing to join Lekdetec.nl in Eredivisie, the highest professional league in the Netherlands. Curran's new team will begin its season later this month after going 19-19 last year.
Curran finished her Drexel career with 1,645 career points, fifth-most in program history. She was just the second player in Drexel women's basketball history to be named First Team All-CAA three times during her career, and was a four-time CAA Player of the Week. Curran, who was twice named to the CAA All-Tournament Team, is also third in CAA history with a .389 three-point percentage, a mark that leads all Drexel players who made at least 150 threes. She finished her career with 153, seventh-most all-time at Drexel. Curran finished her career by scoring at least 20 points in each of her final three games, all in postseason play.
A native of Media, Pa., Curran graduated from Archbishop Carroll before attending Drexel. She graduated from Drexel in the spring of 2017 with a degree in hospitality management.
