PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's soccer team returns to action when it travels to Towson on Sunday, Oct. 14 for a 1 p.m. match after playing the last three Colonial Athletic Association contests at home.
LAST TIME OUT
Freshman Lauren Currey scored two goals in a back-and-fourth double overtime loss against CAA opponent Hofstra on Thursday evening at Vidas Field, 3-2.
After falling behind 1-0 early, Currey found the equalizer in the 24th minute, collecting a deflected cross from senior Shaelyn McCarty inside the 18-yard box and placing a low-driven shot inside the bottom of the net. Hofstra regained the lead in the second half and just as the game was about to be over, Currey provided the heroics, finding the back of the net for a second time in the 84th minute to send the game into overtime. Both teams then continued to trade chances until Hofstra put the game away with Lucy Porter's second goal of the game shortly after the final period opened.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Towson scored twice in the first before playing visiting College of Charleston to a 3-3 CAA draw Sunday afternoon at the Tiger Soccer Complex.
