Softball Falls to Hofstra in Series Finale

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Drexel softball team fell to Hofstra, 8-0, in the CAA series finale on Sunday afternoon.
Hofstra secured the victory early, jumping out to a 5-0 lead by the end of the first inning. The Pride got on the board first with a two-run single before using a Drexel fielding error to advance a third run. Hofstra then sliced a double through right field to plate two more and extend the advantage.
Neither team added a run until the fourth when a walk with the bases loaded forced one across for the Pride. The Dragons were unable to recover as Hofstra then added two more in the following inning with a RBI single for a 8-0 victory in five innings.
Katie Haley suffered the loss in the circle as she allowed 10 hits and eight runs in 4.2 innings of work.
