Softball Drops Friday Affair to Hofstra, Doubleheader Set for Saturday

The Dragons held an 8-4 advantage heading into the seventh inning but Hofstra came back to tie the game, sending it to extra innings before picking up the win over Drexel.
Drexel jumped out to a 4-0 lead following a solo home run from Linda Rush in the first and three RBI singles from Hannah Walker, Elena Woulfe and Rush in the second inning.
The Pride came back to even the score, recording two runs in each the fifth and sixth innings.
In the bottom half of the sixth, Taylor Lee broke the tie when she hit a two-run homer, 6-4. Reilly Joe Swanson then notched a triple to bring home Sarah Clinton on the play. A fielder's choice by Walker capped the four-run frame for the Dragons, 8-4.
Drexel made two errors with one on and one out in the top of the seventh to give the Pride an opportunity, one that Hofstra made the most out, scoring four runs to tie up the game. Hofstra managed three singles in the inning, 8-8.
The Pride's Kristin Hallam singled in the eighth, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch before scoring on an RBI groundout to give Hofstra the lead and eventual win, 9-8.
