Softball Falls in Series Finale to No. 20 James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Drexel University softball team (29-20-1, 9-9 CAA) fell in the series finale to the No. 20 James Madison Dukes (41-7, 17-1 CAA) by a final of 12-2 in five innings on Sunday afternoon from Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Va.
The loss moves Drexel to 29-20-1 overall and 9-9 in conference play.
Taylor M. Lee managed the first run and hit for the Dragons when she notched a solo home run with two outs in the third inning.
James Madison our up four runs in each the first, second and third innings. In the first, Odicci Alexander hit a grand slam. The Dukes added four more in the second with a sac fly and two two-run doubles. In the third, a double, home run and error bought the final four Duke runs around.
Megan Trivelpiece notched the Dragons' second hit in the fourth to put two on for Drexel before being stranded.
With one out in the fifth, Hannah Walker doubled and then scored on an RBI single from Linda Rush, 12-2.

Drexel hosts Howard on Tuesday, April 30 for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
