LEONIA, N.J.– The Drexel University men's rowing team is set to compete against defending national champions Columbia University on Saturday, May 4 from Overpeck Park in Leonia, N.J.
The men are racing for the first time since April 20 in the Kerr Cup Regatta after last weekend's Bergen Cup Regatta and head-to-head with MIT were canceled due to high winds.
At the Kerr Cup, Drexel finished with six medals in their seven finals races which included second place finished in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and third varsity eight. The freshman eight and freshman four each won gold.
LOOKING AT COLUMBIA
The Lions held steady at No. 3 in the latest IRA/USRowing Coaches Poll. Columbia has been off since earning a pair of wins over Dartmouth for the Subin Cup on April 21. In June 2018, Columbia's lightweights captured its second IRA National Championship in three years.
