Schneidereith Named Volunteer Assistant Coach

PHILADELPHIA –After helping the Dragons to a historic season in 2021, former 3x team captain Jamie Schneidereith returns to the field for a sixth season in 2022 but in a much different capacity. Mary Semanik Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Kim Hillier announced Friday afternoon that she would be bringing Schneidereith on as a volunteer assistant this spring.
"Bringing Jamie on our staff was an absolute no-brainer," said Hillier. "She is a competitor at heart and has led this program previously as a captain. Her winning mentality is something that completely aligns with who we are as a program and will be an invaluable addition to our staff. To me, Jamie is family in every sense of the word, and her love for this program speaks volumes. I didn't have the honor of coaching her, but I am so incredibly lucky to have her join us for this year."
Schneidereith graduated from Drexel after her fifth season with the Dragons in 2021. The Lutherville, Md. native played in 68 games in her career and got the start in 45. Schneidereith was a dynamic asset for the Dragons, amassing 69 points behind 53 goals and 16 assists while picking up 87 ground balls and forcing 47 caused turnovers. In her final season, Schneidereith helped lead Drexel to its first CAA Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. In 2021 she hit several milestones, including being named to the CAA All-Tournament team and the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and surpassing the 50-career goal mark in the Dragons final regular-season game against Towson on Apr. 23.
"I'm so grateful for another season with the Dragons," said Schneidereith. "This program holds a special place in my heart, and I can't wait for everyone to see what they're going to bring to the table this year."
The Dragons aim to pick up where they left off in 2021 and are expected to start their 2022 campaign come early February.
