Drexel Opens Season With Win Against La Salle, 168-130

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's swimming and diving team started the 2021-22 season against Philadelphia neighbors La Salle on Friday night. The Dragons were victorious by a score of 168-130.
The Dragons (1-0) had 11 first-place finishes in their season opener, including wins in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Fede Nocera and Lera Nasedkina were featured on both relay teams to lead the Dragons.
Nocera and Nasedkina added solid individual performances as well against the Explorers. The freshman, Nocera, dominated in her collegiate debut. The Trieste, Italy native finished first in the 100 back and 200 back. Nasedkina finished first in the 50 free while also placing second in the 100 breast.
The 100 back went down to the wire as Aldercy Bui finished one one-hundredth of a second behind Nocera, who finished in 59 seconds flat. Bui touched the wall with a time of 59.01.
Chelsea Gravereaux and Megan Sicinski also showed up on top of the score sheet multiple times. Gravereaux finished first in the 200 free and 100 free while also being a part of the first place 400 free relay team. Sicinski added two first-place finishes as well. The senior touched the wall first in the 100 breast and 200 breast.
The Dragons travel to Boston on November 5 and 6 to compete against Northeastern and Boston College.
